The Medical Humanities Interest Group (MHIG) was created to increase medical students’ access to a creative outlet and exposure to the interplay between the medical sciences and humanities (ex. narrative medicine, medical anthropology, the arts, literature, music). This will be accomplished through interdepartmental collaboration (e.g. the Medical History and Bioethics department, the Creative Writing department) and mentorship through UW Health faculty. We will accomplish these goals through organizing events such as narrative medicine writing workshops, reading groups, noon talks and art nights.
